Road Safety Week

Road Safety Week

This year's Road Safety Week had a clear focus on speeding and the consequences this can have on our safety and lives. Each class had a focus and an activity to work on.

See below to find out what we have got up to :)

Nursery and Reception spent the afternoon looking at different types of road signs and what each one means. They also discussed how to cross the road safely. They finished the lesson by making some yummy traffic light biscuits.
Year 1 and 2 spent the afternoon looking at the different types of crossings and what we must and mustn't do when we cross the road. They finished with making some fantastic acrostic poems about what they had learnt.
Year 3 and 4 spent the afternoon discussing the pros and cons of changing the speed limit to 20mph, and created a poster trying to persuade the local Council to do this.
Year 5 and 6 spent the afternoon debating regarding the speed limit being lowered from 30mph to 20mph. They also wrote a letter to the local MP explaining their reasons why they felt this should happen.
