Music at Sacred Heart Primary School 🎶

At Sacred Heart Primary School, we believe that every child has the right to express themselves through music, as recognised in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (Article 31 – the right to take part in cultural and artistic activities). Music is a powerful tool for creativity, confidence, and well-being, and we are committed to ensuring that all children have the opportunity to develop their talents.

Our recent visit from RockSteady Music School brought this to life, allowing pupils to experience the excitement of playing in a band, learning new instruments, and working together as musicians. This reflects Article 29, which states that education should develop children’s talents and abilities to their fullest potential, and Article 13, which protects their right to freedom of expression.

Through music, we nurture teamwork, self-expression, and a love for the arts, ensuring that every child’s voice is valued and celebrated. Whether through performances, lessons, or extracurricular activities, we are proud to make music an enriching and inclusive part of school life. 🎵
