Welcome to Year 3's Class Page!

Welcome to Willow's Class Page. On here you will find lots of exciting updates about what we are learning in Year 3, important dates and key information to help you with your learning.

Important Events in the Week:

Wednesday - We have outdoor PE on this day. You must ensure you have your outdoor PE kit for this day. Kit includes a plain shirt that is your team's colour, shorts/tracksuit bottoms and trainers.

Thursday –  Homework is sent out on Thursday and must be back in school for the following Thursday.

Friday –  We have a spelling test on a Friday. Please practice your spellings at home. We also have Green Time on Friday as a reward for all those who have made good choices throughout the week.

Thank you to all those who are supporting their children with reading at home. Please continue to enjoy sharing books with your child. It is important that they are reading regularly at home and also discussing their reading.

Please ensure that reading journals come to school every day. When reading with your child, ask questions about their book, ask what they liked about the book and write a comment in their journal to let us know how they are getting on.

Autumn 2

Our class book this term is 'Chronicles of Narnia' by C.S.Lewis. This is a story based on four children who travel to another world and have a magical experience. We are using talk for writing to create our own portal stories.

In Science we will be learning to;

  • identify that animals, including humans, need the right types and amount of nutrition, and that they cannot make their own food; they get nutrition from what they eat.
  • identify that humans and some other animals have skeletons and muscles for support, protection and movement.

Our topic is based on Paddington Bear travelling around different areas within the United Kingdom. We will be focusing on the countries there capital cities and the surrounding seas.

Year 3 love to read!
