Children's Mental Health and Wellbeing

Children’s Mental Health Week

This year’s theme was This Is My Place.

Having a sense of belonging as individuals, in friendships and in our schools is important for our mental health. When we feel we belong, it empowers us to contribute to the world and make a difference.

For Children’s Mental Health Week, we encouraged people to create inclusive and nurturing environments where children can say, This Is My Place.

Celebrate Place2Be's Children's Mental Health Week with this year's theme 'This is My Place'!

To celebrate this year's Children's Mental Health Week theme 'This is My Place', Place2Be collaborated with 14 additional charities across the UK to champion the power of belonging. We encourage families, schools, and communities to create inclusive, nurturing spaces where every child feels seen, heard, and accepted.

Year 1

In Year 1 we spent time talking about where we feel we belong, where we feel safe, values and included. As part of our lesson, we took part in a welcome circle, where we all sat together and took turns to introduce ourselves, and talk about a person who makes us feel happy.

In Year 6 we focuses on exploring what belonging truly means, and we approached it in a variety of meaningful ways. We listened to music that reflected the feeling of belonging, discussed what it means to feel included, and shared ideas about hoe we can help ourselves and others feel part of a community. To finish, we created artwork to express our own interpretations of belonging.
