NSPCC Number Day

Sacred Heart Primary thoroughly enjoyed celebrating NSPCC Number Day, with the whole school coming together to promote a love of maths in a fun and engaging way. Pupils and staff dressed up as TTRockStars or wore creative outfits linked to numbers, times tables and maths, filling the school with excitement and enthusiasm.

Throughout the day, learning across all year groups focused on multiplication and division, with children taking part in a wide range of practical activities, games, problem-solving challenges and times-table competitions. These activities helped children build confidence, strengthen key mathematical skills and develop fluency in a supportive and enjoyable environment.

As part of the celebrations, Year 6 pupils designed and created their own multiplication board games, which they then had the opportunity to test with Year 4 pupils. This collaborative activity encouraged teamwork, clear mathematical thinking and leadership, while allowing younger pupils to practise their multiplication skills in an engaging and interactive way.

Celebrating Number Day also reinforced the importance of maths in everyday life while raising awareness of the valuable work carried out by the NSPCC. It was a fantastic day that highlighted how maths can be both meaningful and fun for all learners.

Below are some photos from the day, including Year 6 sharing their multiplication games with Year 4.
