Careers Week

Careers Week

During Careers Week, our pupils had the exciting opportunity to meet and learn from a range of professionals, including an ex-RAF member, pastor, actor, doctor, builder, youth worker, police officer, accountant and songwriter. We were particularly pleased to welcome Danielle, our Rocksteady teacher, who shared her experiences as a songwriter and musician. Each visitor shared their experiences, career journeys and the skills that have helped them succeed, giving pupils a valuable insight into the many opportunities available to them in the future.

Throughout the week, pupils listened attentively, asked thoughtful questions and engaged enthusiastically with each visitor. The children have thoroughly enjoyed this week and have taken part in a range of fun, engaging and inspiring careers sessions. These experiences helped to develop important life skills such as communication, independence, resilience and courage. Pupils learned that success often comes through hard work, determination and a willingness to overcome challenges, regardless of the career path they choose.

The week also provided an excellent opportunity to promote British Values. By learning about a diverse range of professions, beliefs and backgrounds, pupils developed a greater understanding of mutual respect and the important role individuals play within their communities and wider society. They were encouraged to appreciate different viewpoints and recognise the positive contributions that people make in a variety of ways.

In line with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, Careers Week supported pupils in exploring their talents, interests and aspirations. It reinforced every child's right to develop their abilities and prepare for the future, inspiring them to think ambitiously about the opportunities ahead. We are incredibly grateful to all of our visitors for sharing their time and experiences and helping to inspire the next generation.
