We aim to provide an RE curriculum that reflects the diversity and richness of the faith communities in our school, our borough and the wider world.

As pupils progress through our school, they develop an understanding of their own beliefs and values alongside those of others. They are encouraged to explore and consider different religious and non-religious worldviews, think deeply about life's biggest questions and develop the knowledge and understanding needed to engage respectfully with different perspectives.

We provide a broad and balanced RE curriculum that gives pupils opportunities to study Christianity alongside other principal religions represented in the UK, as well as non-religious worldviews such as Humanism. Pupils explore beliefs, practices, values and ways of life, including how these are expressed within different communities.

Our curriculum also provides opportunities for pupils to explore values that are important to life in modern Britain, including the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

Through RE, we want our pupils to become knowledgeable, thoughtful and respectful individuals who can appreciate the diversity of the world around them, ask meaningful questions and engage positively with their local community and wider society.
