Parents/carers as partners

We really value your comments and contributions and believe this is vital in ensuring your child's needs are fully met. There is an open door policy so please feel free to share anything that you think will support us in supporting your child. 

We welcome 'proud cloud' and 'wow' comments at any time, to celebrate any achievements your child has done at home or in the community. 

Home learning tasks will be sent home linked to learning that we are doing in nursery. These will be sent via Dojo or a letter from school. Children will also be sent a homework book linked to their reading book where your child can draw a picture from the story.  Please spend time some completing these with your children. 

Reading books will be sent home weekly. Please find some special time to read for pleasure with your child. A reading record will be included for you to add comments about what your child enjoyed about the story and maybe their favourite character. As a school, we follow Read, Write, Inc and when your child is ready, a phonics sheet will be included to practice at home. 

We also encourage lots of fine motor control skills that develop your child's ability to hold a pencil and be ready for early writing and mark making. 

Lots of nursery rhymes and talking to your child to develop their communication and language skills.
