World Animal Day 2025
To celebrate World Animal Day, we welcomed the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) into school for a series of inspiring and creative workshops. Each session helped pupils understand the importance of protecting endangered species and the incredible conservation work the DSWF does across the globe.
Year 1 had a fantastic time transforming into tigers through drama and movement, exploring how these animals live and survive in the wild. Year 5 designed and built imaginative animal habitats, thinking carefully about what different species need to thrive. Year 6 created beautifully detailed clay rhinos, learning about the threats these magnificent creatures face and how conservation efforts are helping to protect them.
The workshops, led by Mark from the DSWF, were engaging, informative, and truly memorable. Mark was fabulous at bringing the sessions to life and inspiring pupils to care deeply about wildlife and the environment. The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation is a UK-based charity that supports conservation projects around the world, focusing on endangered species and the preservation of their habitats.
