Healthy Mind Happy Me

Sacred Heart Primary School are proud to have achieved the Sandwell Charter Mark in 2018 from our Local Authority.

Mental Health and Well-being is now an integral part of the school curriculum. The importance of positive mental health is a major contributing factor to education and life outcomes. 

At Sacred Heart, we are aware of the contributing factors that can increase pressures on our young children and may compromise their emotional well-being, therefore, our aim is that the the activities and lessons within the 'Healthy Mind Happy Me' curriculum will enable our children to learn the skills they need to develop their emotional well-being, build their resilience and manage life's challenges. 

Each module is covered every year through a developmental approach - as the children get older and become more mature, the skills and knowledge become more embedded and we would hope to see our children leave us resilient, respectful, friendly and able to be reflective.

There are 6 characters who are seen throughout the curriculum - these characters present a diversity of ethnicities and family structures. Each character represents certain values and their stories develop through the modules.
